Stoma Feast 1We concluded the residency with a Xalapa edition of our Feast Series. We convened local artists and friends we had connected with during our stay and presented the Spanish-language edition of Stoma Cookbook Zine II. Villagers read from the cookbook zine, Xalapena essayists and poets shared new works on the themes of food and community, and Son Jarocho musicians performed “Las Cocineras.” We feasted on recipes from the cookbook as well as homemade tamales, local fruits, and other dishes from our many guests.
